What's the best spring/shock combo for a budget?

I'm on a tight budget, but I really need to lower my car. However I don't want to sacrifice quality, so no ghettofied poor quality springs. What's the best spring /shock combo I can get for cheap, but still of high quality?
(Something around 3-400$ for the spring/shock combo would be great)

Maxspeeds are a cheap and well worth the money, 1.5"/1.3" F/R drop. Then pair them with some KYB GR-2 struts, they can get harsh in the cold but they are also a great value. There is suspension package on Ebay.... ST struts and Sprint springs (2.0" drop) for under $300+ shipping. IMO get the Maxspeeds and KYB GR-2.

Wow! How are those GR-2's so cheap? What kind performance difference is there between the GR-2's, and say, Tokico Illuminas?

illuminas are adjustable, GR-2s aren't. Just go with maxspeeds and gr-2s. I have maxspeeds on my car. Look at my sig.

Did you install springs yourself or paid someone else to do it..

Just testing waters for install prices since will lower my car some time in future as well.

me and my mechanic installed my MaxSpeesd in about two hours you will need a set of spring compressors...do springs and struts all at once kill two birds w/one stone..

I'm considering the same Maxspeed/GR-2 combo. Would you recommend keeping stock springs and better struts instead? Can I expect any handling improvement over stock, or just the lower stance?

Previously owned.....?? I have the GR-2's/Eibach and I am very happy with them. I still have a good riding suspension, that really comes to life when it is needed. My little G-Timer has shown a .87G corner around an exit ramp, and I need new tires.
