Confirming (hopefully) the right Spark Plugs
Confirming (hopefully) the right Spark Plugs
Howdy folks. I'm nearing the end of the long road to getting my engine running as it should.
After a long battle with a pesky cylinder misfire (Replaced Coils, and even Injectors), My '95 Max GXE is finally running like a Maxima again.
My finishing touch (just cause I wanna) is to replace my plugs. Because of the other repairs I've done, my budget only allowed me to get Bosch Platinum plugs (As opposed to Platinum 2, or Platinum+4).
For peice of mind, I'd like to confirm that these will be alright for the car. In addition to confirming this where I bought them, I've read from numerous sources that they will be fine.
I saved the best for last. Just wanted to check in here (the best Maxima resource on the net) and make sure these Bosch plugs will do the job (even if they don't give the performance of the more expensive ones).
Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

There aren't any Maximas in Barrie.
Buy NGK's only. If you don't want to spend the bucks for the platinums buy the coppers. They are super cheap and do a better job, only drawback is they supposedly last for 30k vs 60k.
Best place to buy them is http://www.clubplug.net/
PS Don't leave you car parked outside in Barrie I lost my 97SE that way.

I decided to get plugs rated for one step colder than the standard. So, I substituted the 5 for a 6 as per Jime's handy chart (BKR6E-11).
Thanks again everyone for your comments and suggestions.
Will these NGK V-Power plugs do??
Chippy I am not sure I would have gone colder if you are N/A, but no harm done, you can always go back to 5's.
Maybe we can get together some day for a coffee or ?????. I live near City Hall.

Coffee sounds good....as long as it's Tim Horton's..;-)
Thanks again!
Socket Size and NGK Life Expectancy
Ok, this may be a stupid question, but what size spark plug socket do I need for Maxima plugs?
Secondly, can anyone offer a guestimate of life expectancy for the NGK V-Power plugs that I bought?
Thanks in advance
