bad idle and lag

When I accelerate slowly there is a huge lag. I do not konw what this could be. PLus a cel came on but it does not have the flat screw to self diagnose. Any ideas of what it could possibly be???

a bad knock sensor, but KS doesnt trip the CEL. you could also have a bad o2 sensor. take it to autozone and check the ECU from there.

Go to AutoZone like -=PK=-Maxima suggested. Since yours is a 99, I'm guessing it's a bad coil pack causing your car to misfire

Def bad coils, I have a 99 and same thing happened. Find the coil and replace - even if you get a KS code which is what I got (and replaced - grrr). If you've got a code, you can prob get the cylinder that has bad coil.

Buy a screwdriver for $.99 and self diagnose, it'll save you $500 to replace all your coil packs.
