Take out all the buttons on the front, including the fan speed.
Remove the whole fan speed selector switch.
Remove two screws near the circuit boards.
Unplug the small connector from the bottom board.
Disconnect the first board from the three plastic clips holding it down.
Remove the first board, then remove the second board.
Honestly be patient and you'll have to unclip the boards from several spots. Pushing in where the buttons used to be will help a lot.
Take your time, good luck.

No problem...and yeah, the first time I took it apart it was really frustrating
Just out of curiosity, are you putting some LED's in or just replacing burnt out bulbs?

The bulbs at all the dealers here in UT were 4 bucks. so 4 bulbs at 4 bucks each = 16 bucks. Not to bad for dealer pricing.

Radio shack has them ...Im talking about miniature light bulbs ,not Leds ...They are $1.79 for two of them...Also, the 4 way flasher and rear window defogger light bulbs are availale at radio shack. They are smaller than the ones in the ac/heating section. The ones in the buttons are removable ,and have some kind of rubbery base...All you need to do for them is remove the bad bulbs and install the new ones (attention to detail needed). I ve done it myself and works perfect. I was thinking about Led s ,but the LED has the light in one spot ,instead having the light dispersed...Let me know if more details are needed...

Good luck finding those bulbs.

Did you giving the unit a good knock? Worked for me. I tapped on the spot where i was dim and it lit back up. Now if you're not lazy you can take it apart and take the bulbs out and put them back in, now my whole unit stays lit, who knows what made it come loose after 11 years.

I did a search on this topic, and saw in other posts that RadioShack carries them....as per other members. If not, someone on the web has to sell them. I don't want to go the LED route, looks cool but way too much work at this point, I have no lights, so stock will do just fine! I will follow up with details once I get to it.

Dealer wants $10.99 per bulb. Are there plug and play LEDs out there? if so where could I find those or replacement miniature bulbs ONLINE. I'm in Canada so no RadioShack here.

Wow that's crazy. I bought mine from the dealer for $20 for all 3 bulbs. $11 per bulb is robbery...
