maxspeed springs or progress from maxima.org?

I was looking to get some lowering springs to go with my not yet installed gr-2's and was wondering if anyone has maxspeed, dropzone,or even the progress springs off maxima.org? How do they ride? thanx

just get maxspeeds, since you got gr2s already i don't think you can go past a 1.5 drop. if you can fork over a little more money then get H&Rs instead.

I thought people with GR2's could use the Maxspeed springs? That is what I gathered anyway.

I have KYB Gr-2's with Progress Springs and it rides great, handles great, and it is a very nice drop. From what I've seen it is better than MaxSpeed. Others can tell you the same. Good luck in choosing springs!

I have Maxspeeds with GR2's and the ride is firm, but still comfortable for everyday driving. Much better than the stock GXE set up.

I wish the drop was lower, but I can live with it.

Can the GR2's handle the drop that the maxspeed's bring? I mean, are they meant for that set up?

i really don't think that gr-2s are meant to be paired up with lowering springs but still, it can hold minor drops.

Why have you stuck with the stock SE struts? That drop looks pretty severe I'd assume those struts would blow pretty soon. That's the drop I'm looking for though so I'm going to pair them up with AGXs.

the drop is decent, it appears really low b/c of the angle. I stick w/ my se struts b/c they are still good and I dont see logic in payin ~$400 for new struts when these are fine. The ride is firm, not bouncy, and not soft, just like i like it. I dont have kids. The each their own though. Most will tell you stock struts are a nono. If they blow I will change them out, no harm done. btw, Ive been in lots of other 4th gens w/ lots of different suspesion set ups. I never saw, felt anything to make me change what i got. oh, and I got alot of dead weight in the trunk too

Fair enough. I may end up doing what you have done and just buy the struts when I need them. Too bad I can't sit in your car and feel it. Oh well thanks for the info.

If you know how to put them in yourself I say go for it. If your payin a shop to do it, you might wanna get it all done at once depending on what they are gonna charge you.

The maxspeeds arent bad at all, but the drop is not that noticible. So Im switchin springs. I just bought a Set of Sprints from Suspensionmax.com and I cant wait for them to come. I know im gonna scrape like crazy cause I have a body kit, but the look of the max dropped is priceless.

I know about all of that, Drew. I have read it all. I was just wanting to get some more opinions rather than just that one reference.

Now that you all thing that maxspeed is not a good drop, do you think that the Progress ones are? Ohannon?

The Progress drop is very nice!! I would say maybe another 1/4 inch and it would be perfect.

So, those of you who used stock struts with lowering springs....the progress spring drop is totally out of the question for stockies? I mean, if I am going to drop it, I want it to be noticeable, but not slammed. More than the Maxspeed, less than some of the others...

I could care less if it is slammed or not i just hate having the face up *** down look i just want it to be level like most cars, just look at the early to mid 90's nissan 4x's they have just the opposite face down *** up look. I think that nissan just has no clue when it comes to suspension, kind of like the coils and automatic transmissions that they make

i think you're best with Progress Springs. Go get a set of those and you'll be happy.

Yes, Progress springs w/tokico blues up front and agx's in back. Nice drop between H&R's and Sprints. The ride is nice and its noticeable as well.
