Would half a y-pipe work?

I have a stock y-pipe on but just recently got my hands on half a y-pipe. Basically it looks like this

not like this

and it's a budget not a warpspeed. What kinda gains would I see from it, if at all? Can anyone spare the other part that I'm missing? Thanx

you should still see some good gains b/c all the gains from a y-pipe is that it removes all the pre cats, which are VERY restricting. so if you can remove those pre-cats you should see some good gains

NO..that top pic is picture of what the Stillen 2 peice Y-pipe design looks like...the bottom is what Warpspeed went to, to reduce the extra flange...The stock pipe comes off in one peice

Just buy a y-pipe for 160 on the group deal, its worth it trust me, you wont regret it. Its costs money to be fast.

You probably have a Cal spec pipe, but not for your year. You need one like your second pic.

okay so let me get this straight. 95-98 have the same y-pipe, and 99-03 don't have the same y-pipe as we do?

Depends on whether or not your car is Fed Spec or Cali spec.

5th Gen pipes are not compatible with 4th Gen cars, and vice versa.

1995 Cali-spec cars do not have the 2-piece Y-pipe, as far as I know.

Geez, get under your car and look for a flange in the middle of the forward Y-pipe branch....

I thought the 99.5 federal models were compatible with 2000-2001 federal ?

well it looks like there are two pieces but I'm not sure. I could be wrong tho. I guess I'm going to have to sell it back to someone that can use it. Unless anyone else has something different to say.

What is this y-pipe compatible to? if not 95 then i'm guessing none of the 4th Gens either except 99. Is 99 a class in itself when it comes to y-pipes? I don't wanna sell it to someone who can't use it. Thanks.
