Bad idle?

I was changing the sprk plugs on my 99 se and i sort of twisted the long tube that the plugs go into. It came loose and the little spring came out. I put it all together and now the car has a bad idle. Around 500rpms and idle.and lags a little when accelerating. Anyone know if this little black pipe lookkin thing is causing the problem. I mean......Do I need tp put the spring in a certain way???
Any help will work at this point,
Thanks.

That little thing with the spring, that would be your coil pack. I believe it's time to buy a new one to replace it.

But, is what I have a syomtom of a bad coil pack and why is it that now that I changed the plugs, it's acting up even more. Before I changed the plugs and lagged a little in slow acceleration but now it's worst.
I am a newbie at this and the search engine is not working for me.
Please help.

The coil pack was damaged when it broke apart. You're not the first one I've seen on this board have this happen to them.

As far as the search, only donating members get to search. The search used to be for all, but the site became practically unusuable with everyone constantly doing searches. They therefore restricted searches to members who donate.

ok, so even if it all goes in well. The spring I mean. I still need to get a new one?? Technically speaking though. If they are so easy to take apart. Then how do we know how far the spring needs to go in or out??
Sorry for the mnay questions. All this with the MAx is new to me.

Unfortuneately, I can't tell you exactly why it's bad once it comes apart. I don't know the exact innerworkings of the coil itself to give you an exact answer. I'm pretty sure that that's what the problem is. I've read your exact same story here before and have heard it elswhere also. Sorry I can't help any further. Maybe someone else can add some knowledge here? Anyone?
