How low to drop?

By how much do you think a 4th gen maxima should be dropped to look good without being ricey (assuming it doesn't have a body kit)? Pics for demonstration would help.

If I were you I would purchase the Eibachs. I put them on my car and not only did it look good (not ricey at all)but it handled a lot better. The ride is just a bit rougher but its well worth the look and performance.

it a hell of a lot better than cutting your springs

1.5-2.0 in.

Actually, I dont think having a low car is ricey. Having a car with Cut springs, blown struts and wheels with no hubcaps is ricey!
Im lowered 2 in. on Sprints.

The only way a car would look is if the wheels are tucked so much that the axle's are bent and the top left of the wheel is over the bottom right. That's both and

I love my H&R drop:

I think the best drop is 1.7 inches, a nice between the drastic 2.0 and conservative 1.4 - don't progress springs go 1.7?

I'd get the eibachs too. 1.5 in the rear and 1.3 in the front? Or is it the other way around?

as soon as i can, i'm gonna get the tokico struts/springs, they are supposed to be 1.5 front and back, but because they're pretty new, they think they should settle a little lower, so 1.6 ish. i got all this from the install page on the homepage.

I went with the 2" spring spring drop. I love them... Looks tight and rides tight...

I may stop all the exterior things and start focusing more on a boost setup.

I put H&Rs on my 97. Lowers it 1.25 inch - I think it is - and closed up the gap nicely. I wouldn't want to lower it any more than that - not for looks but practicality. As it is, I now scrape the muffler on speed bumps and sometimes scrape my front spoliler on the curb if I pull in too far. Any lower and this would be happening more. I'd also be worried about bottoming out more. All that aside, I think the slammed look is sweet, up to a point. If you can't see any rubber at the top it's too much IMHO.

I searced a bunch of threads first and the general feeling was that H&Rs gave the closest-to-stock ride. I've never ridden anything but stock and the H&Rs so can't really say about the others. I find the ride a bit stiffer, but not in a bad way.

To me, rice = a bunch of flashy cr ap with nothing to back it up - stickers and graphics and huge wings but otherwise stock beneath. But you know, you should do whatever you want. Like big wings? Slap one on. I'd rather see some expression of individuality than everyone look the same.

Isn't driving around with with only primed front lip kinda ricey too...

Talking about ricey, I probably got most ricey car at the moment. Driving on steelies with no hub-caps and hiper ricey crome altezzas...

But that's all gonna change in a few weeks... projectS are almost complete...
