The I 30 steering wheel is of the Limited model with wood grain in it.

My friend has a 99 I30 Limited and his S.wheel doesnt have wood, it looks just like the 97-99 Se S. wheel with the Infiniti logo.

The steering wheels are the same. If you have a GXE or GLE airbag, the steering wheel of an I30 will fit. I remembered seeing one on Ebay a few months ago and it had a GXE, GLE airbag on it. This mod however will NOT work for an SE model.

So what you trying to say that the air bags are different on SE and GXE/GLE?

Yes, i was told SE airbags do not fit GXE/GLE steering wheels because they are shaped differently. If I'm wrong....someone please correct me.

There is a number of different S.W. designs through years and models... 96-97 i30, 98-99 i30, 95-97(?) max, 98-99 max, plus trim level gxe, gle, se, i30/i30t, limited ed. etc. So, one wheel say for 96-97 is one shape, but can be for max or inf and the diffrns is it's plastic or leather and the logo on the bag... so those wheel/bags can be mixed/fitted any way you want. So then comes year 98/99... i'm not sure when the change happens on maxima - 98 or 97, but it's 98 for infiniti. This sw is leather on inf for 98/99 but again this limited ed uses fake wood on it... ok, i'm tired of this now But it gets funny through niss models too. I saw 01 pathfindr - the same wheel as 99 i30; 02 pthfndr/02 q45/02 max - have the same wheel/bag too ...
