It's hardly noticeable, but annoying nonetheless. If it is the intake, what is the problem and how could it be fixed ?

I have something similar although I have manual and it seems it is only about 800 rpms and on the passenger side of the car. If I rev the car past 1000 it goes away.

Mine whistles when I feather the throttle a bit. However the loud sucking noise is there whenever the engine is running. Kinda cool, you can hear half a block away.

mine used to whistle around 1,500-2000 rpms that was because of the intake, but now because of the y-pipe you can barely hear it. Now you can hear a roar from my stock mufler and be like WTF?

But if it's whisteling while idling then it's the belt. Prolly need to be replaced or tightened

If it sounds like a ghostly whine/moan, it's probably your alternator. If it's more of a squeak, really high pitched, it's usually a belt.

And yes, if you have an intake, especially a pop charger and a midpipe, there is a bit of whine/whistle from that as well.

If you really want to locate the noise, just go out and get an automotive stethoscope (a long metal probe to physically transfer the noise instead of the diaphragm on the medical stethoscope) and work away.
