Engine Light

My engine light has been on for a month or so now and my gas milage has gone down by about a 100 miles per tank. I check the ECU code and get an 0706 & 0304. Undefined and a knock sensor. I am positvie it's an 0706. I found this link http://www.jimbennett.net/ECU.htm that shows it as being Fuel Injection System -Control Fault, but I think its for a Pathfinder, doesn't really say. Sounds like maybe the 06 is false, and should be an 07 with the bad gas milage. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

100 miles per tank? Sounds to me almost like fuel leaking somewhere.....

According to the Haynes shop manual, 0706 is fuel injection system lean or rich (right bank).

Change your fuel filter and run a bottle or two of Techron through. If that doesn't clear things up you may have a fuel pressure regulator gone bad.

Thanks, I will replace the filter. Do you think the 0304 (knock Sensor) error that follows 0706, is a result of the poor fuel problem? The sensor measured 4.9k ohms to 5.2k ohms on pin2.

knock sensor gone wrrong will cause bad gass milage and major hp losses. What type fuel are you running?

I'm running Unleaded 89 octane fuel. I don't have major HP loss, but bad gas milage. Used to go around 430 miles per tank, and now it's around 330.
