how do you take the outer taillight assembly off the 4gen maxima
i took the 4 nuts off and the tail light still wont budget
am i missing something?

 

you need to hit the gym lol no but seriously you need to really push it and at the same time make sure you take the bolts out pretty evenly.

 

yea, grab a hair drier and start heatin the glue on the inside. make sure u get it all hot and then push it towards outside. make sure u got some gloves on and dont be stupid like me and get the glue all over the body

actuall its not false info I just did mine yesterday with no hair dryer thank you it is not glu in there it is liquid gasket and it is stretchy. If you push on the middle hard enough it will start to come out and you poke through the gasket with you fingers or something.

 

okay i got the housing out now i cant get the 2 white climp that is inside the assemnly out?
any suggestion

just use a hammer, and tap lightly and evenly on each bolt, then it will eventually budge when you try to pull.

 

Use a small screw driver and push the clamp from underneath it, than slide them out.

 

well u must've done it in hot weather. when i did it, it was a cold rainy day. u can take em out without a hair drier but the weather gotta be pretty warm and u gotta push really hard

lol i got that sticky tar material all over my car today.

 

Yeah i just pulled out mine on friday and i was wondering why it wasn't coming out. push it really hard there is some black glue on there. And if ur clearing them out watch out not too crack them cause i cracked mine a lil.

 

When I painted my taillights. I removed all the bolts and put all my weight on the taillights and gave it 3 really hard pushes, almost like jumping on it I guess. You can feel it start to move out, then just keep pushing hard. That's all I did.

 

i cut the black silicon stuff
now i have a problem removing the two white clips that are in the middle of the assembly.

 

use a screw driver. put it under the white clips and turn the screw driver (forcin the clip to go upwards) and then slide it. they are a ***** to remove

How about the re-enstall, I had just ordered some tezza's cause Custom Maxima has been telling me for years they had been working on some red/clears for the 95-96's but still nothing and I cant seem to find them anywhere else. If I get the tezza's in there will the whole glue thing affect it?
