I went a local mechanic and asked "how much to change my timing belt?"

He said it had a Chain? IS this true on a 97 model 3000?

If so when does the chain usually need to be changed?

Thanks,
Scott

I'm not familiar with a "97 model 3000". Please double-check that model information.

All '95-up Maximas use a timing chain. Timing chains are durable, and there is no scheduled replacement interval. Replace the chain if it becomes loose and noisy. On most cars that will never happen.
