Those with an adjustable short shifter

I have one installed in my car. It came with my car, so I don't know what brand it is. I know it's adjustable, it has the white plastic ball that can go up and down on threads. It also has and extra set of threats about 3" below the threads the **** screws to, I think they hold the boot up. Boy I am making myself confused. Anyway.... it's all chrome and connects to the stock shifter linkage. So what brand is it? I think its an SMC STS though I'm not 100% sure. Also what height do you have the ball set at? Mine is all the way up....that's the shortest throw I believe. The shifting can be like butter one minute and notchy as heck the next. Any comments are helpful.

Sounds like the Pacesetter STS. I bought that setup from a buddy for like $20....but believe me, if it were full price I would not own it, nor would I buy anything that says or smells like Pacesetter.
