Knock Sensor resistance

My car runs as though the timing is retarded, seems to have low end lag, but throws no engine codes. I ohmed the KS at exactly 550k ohm, and further checked it out by substituting a resistance of 530, since it is nominal. There is a variety of ideas in the forums on what is the correct resistance.

That got me to wondering if anyone has played with different values of resistance and their effect on timing advance? Or is it a all or nothing thing when the KS detects a knock?

if you dont even have a ghost KS code, then dont bother messing with it. You seem to be getting the right resistance, leave it be, trust me
