i got those two from pulling the CEL codes myself. It's the vehicle speed sensor and automatic transmission signal to ECU.

I don't feel anything wrong with my car when I drive. speedometer still works and transmission doesn't shift weird.

anyone know what could be wrong, and how much it might cost to fix?

thanks, any input appreciated!!

I have the same problem. Mine comes with occasional O/D light blinks in addition to two CEL codes. The dealership replaced VSS more than a year ago (I was naive enought to go straight to the dealership then) and still having the same problem.

This might help. I'm hoping that this is it and ordered the wire harness repair kit last week. The price was like $20 shipped.

So my suggestion is not to replace a VSS quite yet if there seems nothing wrong with the VSS.

The TSB is titled "EGI Wire Harness Breakage Diagnosis And Repair Procedure" in JaTaN's sticky. There is a part number for the harness repair kit in there if you're interested.

Thanks that's pretty helpful. I never thought of that. Can you let me know when you get the kit to see if it works?

The article said if you have a code for P0500 and you find a break, that might be it. My codes were 0504 and 0104, if that means anything..
