help with steering wheel install... tips?
hey guys i'm about to install my new momo net steering wheel and was wondering if any of you guys who installed aftermarket steering wheels on your maxes had any tips to make the process go smoother... also what tools would be needed. any info and tips would be great. thx in advance.

Only special tool I remember needing was for some goofy hex screws that held the airbag in. I was able to get them out with a good set of vice-grips though.
When I installed mine, I just tore into it and put it back together (didn't take my time). Consequently I lost the mechanism that turns the blinkers off after a turn and I messed up the ring that allows the horn to work. Watch these two areas. I don't know if I messed up the install or if you can't use these two things with an aftermarket wheel. I'm gonna go with I messed up on the install. :

Im prretty sure you will need a steering wheel pulling tool which you can rent at autozone. I havne't replace the steering wheel on my max and probably won't but I replaced it on my old Nissan truck.
Make sure your wheels are straight
make sure you put a mark on the steering column so you know where the top of it is incase you move it a bit.
disconnect your battery so the bag don't blow on you while working on it.
good luck with the install, post pics when you are done

if you plan on yanking the steering wheel with out a puller (its sooo much easier with the puller) put the 17mm bolt back on for a few threads, that way when the wheel suddenly pops off it wont hit you in the face.
