ugh...changing the gauge bulb shouldn't trigger the CEL. it must be something else internally broken (i'm pretty sure)

please read all the FAQs in the 4th gen forum sticky, and here's how you pull and determine your CEL >> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=104931

YOu can always do a diagnostic check if you got the code book. Then you can get a little closer to solving your problem. And if you didn't see or hear a spark, you didn't do nothing wrong.

i tried the self diagnosis thing and first found two problems. But when i reset it and did it the second time, the check engine light blinked 0505 which means no problems detected and now my check engine light is off when i start my car. I was just wondering, does anyone know if the problem is gone? or should still get the problems checked out? thanks~

if the check engine light was 0505 and it disappeared it should be fine.if it comes back on again you might want to check it for other codes
