calipers painted?

does anyone have their calipers painted? and do you have pics of them?
also, do you have the torque member(brake pad holder) painted a different color? thats what i really want to see. or does anyone know if this would look stupid?

i painted mine red (no pics sorry). i just painted the front 2 and looks really good IMO. its not that bright glossy red, just your average joe shmoe red. and since your car is blue, you might wanna think about paintin them blue. but the 2 most popular colors are red and black. kinda makes your car look like you have a big brake kit.

True, but in some cases covering up rust is a good thing... I painted my black, and I think they look mighty good!

ha ha ha, this is coming from someone that has their color down as being carbon fiber. ha ha ha. Now that is rice!

Anyway, I would not order the g2 paint kit. It is way too pricey for this mod. I mean, all you need is a can of high temp paint(if you want extra glossy, get a high temp clear coat too.....$8 together) from Autozone, some newspaper, and some masking tape. I mean, you just clean the caliper off and spray after taping all around it to ensure no overspray. Too easy!

I have not actually seen anyone with the two/tone that you were talking about. I have heard of a couple of people doing this though. Mostly just with red/black. I think I would stick to a solitaire color personally.

looks good. I agree with the non-rust statement. I don't want mine to look rusty, so I am going to paint them.

i absolutely agree. thats why i am doing it. i also agree with red ones looking kinda stupid because they are not big brakes. i hope the blue looks good on mine.

every Ferrari is big pimpin. ha ha. IMO

I have thought about black, but it would just get lost in the wheel like everything else. I will probably never get a BBK, there is no need with the driving I do. That being said, I think painting them is a good option. '

Gutter....just try to match the blue of your car. I think that would look really cool.

Slammed is right...it is rice on stock sh1tty brakes...but that won't stop me from painting them when I paint my wheels.

In summer I'll be getting the blehmco bbk and will be painting the 300zx calipers black with silver lettering so I won't be rice for too long

Maybe you should paint your calipers pink to match you car. Since you think it's so much better and gives you the right to talk **** about tastefully modded cars.
Real cf?....on the armrest, radiator, fuse box....I don't think so.

I am not going to hate on you though, slammed95, because you have a fine
Ferrari (which I am wondering how you got...lucky, lucky man). I love Ferrari's and your max does look good, so I can't hate.

However, I didn't get the paint the calipers pink thing. I mean, my car is as red as your Ferrari and you think it is pink?

I painted mine using the Folia-Tec caliper paint kit. I realize it is $35 compared to $10 for autozone paint, but looking at what a thick, glossy coat it gives vs the thin spray paint I think it is very worth it. I painted mine blue, I think it looks good on a black car, not as flashy as red and not as subtle as black.

That's cool...it is fun to give people a hard time. ha ha

I got to give it to ya...that pic does kind of look pink. That was a friend's digital camera, and it sucked bad....can you tell? ha ha. The ones on that next page I just did with a 35mm camera and then had them put onto a cd to post on here and they even came out better.

All I was saying about the "real cf" stuff is that is was originally used for weight savings. That, I guess, is what I was considering real.

I painted mines BRIGHT blue, like a sky blue. it looks dumb. If you could match your car color exactly as your calipers it will probably look good, like william's. Mines just stood out way to much. Kinda tacky ya know?

I have mine painted red, you can kind of see it in the sig pic, but it didn't turn out that well and looks kinda ricey IMO. When I get a chance I'll probably change it to white, silver, or gold.

yeah, business810, the red does not look the greatest with the pebble beige. IMO.
Black or gold would probably look good.

metallic97gxe, i thought yours were gold. I've noticed before and asked in another post but I don't think you responded. How did you get color matched high temp paint. I would love that. Please inform me.

He probably just found a high temp paint that you can buy at like AutoZone that matched all right. I mean, it is under your wheel, and you would probably not be able to tell.

99Maxima5spd did the same thing with his splash guards and they came out fine. He is the pebble beige/gold too.
