I recently had put a part for my 95 maxima. it is a plastic cover on the under side of the fender...which wraps round on the underside top of the wheel fender.
(i dont know if i make sense with the description).

I was charged 75$ for the part and labor.it took 30 minutes for the job. Was i ripped of or was it ok.
im in texas.

Most auto repair jobs are charged by the "book rate". If the book says a given repair takes an hour the shop charges an hour. If they can do it in less time they make more profit. Sometimes they run into trouble and the job takes two hours. When that happens they absorb the loss.

This may seem unfair but it is a standard industry practice. Having a book rate is what enables a shop to give customers a price quotation and then stick to it.
