Yea, got a '96 GLE and I cleaned the throttle body and sea foamed as follows: Slowly poured 1 bottled in through brake power unit and stalled engine. Let the car sit for 20-minutes and took a 3-mile drive to gas station. Filled up with 93 and added a bottle of sea foam to gas tank. Soon as I left the station the CEL came on. Did I screw up the 02 sensors or do I need to just reset the ECU?

Try resetting it...I've heard that taking off that hose while it's running creates a CEL...resetting it can't hurt

 

Get the trouble code from the ECU, then come back...

 

maybe you didnt' tighten your gas cap enough? idk

 

i do that oine the 5th gen all the time! it is always a good scare!
