2K-2K1 TechnoSquare TEST CARS please stand up~!

Be VERY careful about getting your hopes up. Despite a great deal of interest, and contact with Danny at TS, this happened:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=292745

Not to say I don't trust or like the guys, but that just sucks, adn I'd hate to find out after time and money that it just wasn't happening, a possibility all too plausible for the 2k-2k1 Maxima, which has an ECU similar to ours...
Check out their website. http://www.technosquareinc.com/new.htm
See where it says Coming Soon: 1999-2001 Maxima?
I get ****ed off everytime I see it, despite the fact that the page is almost 2 months old....

Big difference is that we've already sent TWO ECUs to Japan and successfully extracted the source code. Plus, they've made a new harness to program our ECUs and their programmer Tadashi just finished a new programmer that was required for our ram size or something like that.

We know it's going to happen, we're just not a priority.

Any details on where/to whom you sent the ECU in Japan, and how much/how long it cost/took to get the source code extracted? I assume it was sent to a a third party, not Technosquare...

And Tadashi can't clear the programmer and harness for our (1999/99.5) application, despite the similarities? D'oh!

Any info would help... us 99 guys want an ECU, too

Techtom in Japan. Technosquare doesn't do anything other then tweak the source code Techtom sends them. All new ECUs must go to Techtom in Japan for the original source code to be extracted, limiters to be identified, etc,. Once extracted, Techtom sends the code back to TS, they tweak it on a dyno, and flash the final tweak into all their customer ECUs.

Didn't cost me anything other then a stock ECU, took over a month for mine, 2-months for Regimes.

I don't claim to know the differences between the 99/99.5s, however the 2K-2K1 are VERY similar to the VQ35s. We just have a different size chip or whatever that required different software, so all TS's R&D work on the VQ35 ECUs gave us an advantage.

I have no doubt TS(read Techtom) could do it, however the problem is it's NOT economical business-wise due to TONS of variations for your ECUs. Your years are a hybrid of sorts from the old ECU and newer 2000+. It appears Nissan was evolving their ECUs in the 98-99yrs. to what ended up in the 2000+. Although, some of the later 99s may be quite similar to ours, you still have to extract EVERY DIFFERENT version of code. That means LOTS of trips to Techtom, which isn't FREE, lots of wait(~1-month min.), and then TS would have to repeat the dyno tweak, flash, tweak, flash R&D process. It's just not viable for such a small market, ie too much investment/work to accomodate all the different '99 ECUs.

You guys should just forget about 7000+ limiters and focus on other mods that make more power under 6400rpm.

BTW, I'm going to move all the 99-stuff out of this thread, since we're trying to focus on 2000+ right now.

If you remove all the '99 stuff then shouldn't this thread be moved to the 5th gen forum?

**Nevermind**...this is just an fyi thread.

Thank you...You can delete my post if you like.
