EGRC Solenoid valve problem need help faaaaassssstttt<<<<<
hi i just read the sticky and i checked my ecu fot codes, i checked the ecu by following directions and came up with 1005, id just like to know what i need to do. My car has some horible hesitation when driving, at first i thought it coulda been bad coil packs or somethin. my plugs are like 8,000 miles old (NGK PLATS) So is it the EGRC solenoid valve causing hesitation. I realllllllllllly need this to be a cheap fix im hopin i could have enough left over to get in on the y pipe deal. Since i cant do a search i need to rely on you guys experience. this was the only code by the way.
If that's the only code, it's a very simple sensor to replace. I replaced one on my '95. If you look slightly to the left of the transmission dipstick, there's a green sensor with three hoses coming out of it. This is the EGR solenoid valve. I believe I only paid $60.00 for it from Nissan. When I replaced mine, I didn't bother saving the tiny hoses attached to it, I just installed new ones. (Only air passes through them.) Took me less than a hour to do the whole job. Just make sure you reset the ECU, and the code should go away.
i just reset the ecu and drove around and came back and i got the same code again, is this what could be causing the hesitation i feel when i press the gas. i smelled behind the car and it smells kinda gassy like im running rich. is it ok to drive the car because i really need to drive to work and to get the new valve. it runs ok once i get to cruising speed of about 40 but acceleration is not to good. please any body lend some advice.
thanx alot mixxmax, ps do you think i can pick this up at pepboys or an autozone.

Yeah, I wouldn't wait too long on replacing this sensor. It could be why you're car is running quite sluggish. This is a factory Nissan part, so will have to buy it from a factory Nissan dealer/distributor.
Yes, disconnect the negative ground to battery to avoid any shorts. Remove stock intake to have more room with hands in removing sensor. Locate sensor (green in color with 3 hoses attached to it) near the left of transmission dipstick and near manifold if facing front of engine. Disconnect harness connector and remove the three hoses attached to it. I found it easier to just cut the hoses and replace with new ones. Install new sensor, and most importantly, RESET ECU. Code should disappear.
