You dont have any emergency funds??! Not smart...
Im new to Maximas so I dunno if there is an adjustment for the clutch (my Prelude has none). You could buy a clutch disc and resurface the flywheel and maybe the pressureplate if the machinist/mechanic says its safe to do.

how many miles do you have on you clutch? if its letting out real high it can be adjusted closer to the floor, if its not worn out. how to do that im not sure , had a friend do it for me.

emergency funds? any money lying around should be spent on mods.. not waiting around until the car breaks. I read somewhere that if you want to check ur clutch then u could let the car get cold from sitting like overnight, then leave it into neutral then try and go from 1st to reverse. if u could do that then ur clutch set up is fine

What makes you think it's slipping? How did you test it?

If your clutch is slipping, you will most likely need a new one. The clutch system (IIRC) adjusts itself as the disk wears down, so adjusting further is not a good idea.

How many miles are on the clutch? If it's low enough miles, you might be able to just replace the disk.

I wouldn't say this is conclusive at all.

The best way to test is to get out on the road; cruise in 5th at around ~2krpm and floor the gas. Keep an eye on the tachometer; if it moves independent of the speedometer, your clutch is slipping.

Clutches begin to slip in higher gears first, but if it's slipping at all, I'd start saving for a replacement.

yea it is gone prob....do this.....go about 50 down a road. and while doing 50 in 5th gear, floor it. if you rpm's raise but the car does nothing untill it has to "catch". then it is wearing out, and you better get it fixed before you will have to tow it to a shop an dcost even more money.
