Suspension Issues.

Ive had this problem even before I had changed my suspension, and I am trying to pinpoint the cause of it. What is happening is that my front camber is extremely negative, having the inside front tires burn relatively quick. I went in to have an alignment done, to see if they could fix the problem. They told me that I would need to replace my Control Arm bushings because they are extremely worn and they could not do the alignment until then.

I ordered some Energy suspension Control Arm bushings because the dealer wants me to replace the entire control arm. Now, my question is, would this fix my negative camber somewhat? Ive talked to people and even seen cars that were lower, or the same drop distance and their camber is perfect.

What gives???

I doubt the bushings are causing your camber issue. If the arm is bent it will throw camber out because it's no longer holding the hub in the correct location in relation to the strut. If the arm isn't bent, thats not your problem. A simple camber bolt can be used to correctly set your front end's camber. Replace the bushings if you like as well to snug things up a bit more.

When they had my car up on the lift, I was checking the bushings and it looked like the endlink bushings(the one that goes on the vertical bar?) was finished, it looked like a pancake.

How well do camber bolts hold up in your opinion, some people say they are worthless because the break easily?

Toe problems can also cause the inside edge of the tire to wear. If the tire is toe'd out,the inside edge will wear.

What are your actual camber measurements?

if camber bolts are installed correctly they can be alright. i believe the vertcial bar ur talking about with the pancake like end bushing is the sway bar? if not just forget this part, but it wouldn't cause the negative camber ur experiencing, the bushings might help a little bit, but if ur negative camber is severe, i wouldnt expect much

mzmtg, The inside edge of the tire is wearing so I would assume it is that my toe is off and not the camber itself. If I remember correctly the machine read something like -.23 and -.33?

nismos14, I checked the courtesy nissan diagram, and they call it the endlink bushings.

ahh and those two bushings connect the sway to the control arm... i get it, those wouldnt cause the camber problems, i'm pretty sure about that.

yeah you either have a toe problem, which is fixable by adjusting the tie rods, but the mech told you it was a camber problem, fixed by many things, bolts, camber plates, bushings, wheel bearings, but heck it could be a bent control arm.
