Drop Res Mod = CEL ???

Drop Res Mod = CEL ???
I was planning on doing the Drop Res Mod on my auto.
In fact everything is set to go.
I got the switch, and I made a custom bracket out of a wire hanger.
I even got it all installed in the engine bay with wiring all layed out.
All i gotta do splice and connect.
The only thing that's holding me back it that I've read about CEL when disengaging the dropping resistor.
Is this true?
Will the CEL come on everytime the car shifts while the the resistor is disengaged?
or does it go away?
The problem is that I go WOT almost every chance I get...
Since the switch is activated at WOT, it would be a pain in the neck if the CEL came on everytime I went WOT.
I'm Just too lazy to clear the codes everyday cuz I wouldn't be able to drive the car if the CEL was on. (CEL freaks me out...)
Anyway.
Can anyone clarify the questions above?
(Jime, you there?)

No it doesn't come on every time and it usually resets itself so its not really a problem.
Mind you I only go WOT usually at the track so I don't have a lot of experience with it.
Also are you sure you have a N/C (normally closed) switch? Otherwise it ain't gonna work. Unless of course you use a relay to reverse it, I think Baggs did that.
Actually now that I think about it, its a trans ecu light which in not the cel, its the hi-beam or something like that at the top of the speedo that flashes when faulting the drop resistor.
