Are these brake instruction we use WRONG?

http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/302

this says to push the caliper piston back into the bore (and be sure to drain the fluid out of the master cylinder)

the bendix web site says not to do that (but to open the bleeded screw) as pushing the fluid back into the Master cyl can screw up the abs system by pushing dirt into it.

whats right

sounds like the motorvate inst need a note or two added

Motorvate doesn't tell you to drain the fluid out of the master cylinder. That's bad. It just says to unscrew the reservoir cap so that you are able to push in the piston before reinstalling the caliper. As you push in the piston, the fluid will rise. Just place a rag around the opening to catch any overflow as you are doing this and you will be fine.

I hope that answered your question....

That sounds like a very careful (perhaps correct) way of doing it... there maybe a possibility of messing up the ABS system... If you don't mind bleeding the system, that would be the BEST way of doing it.

I done the simplified way on non-ABS cars without any problems.

bendix says to open the bleeder screw, when pushing the caliper piston in, thereby not forcing fluid thru the abs

i donno why u are working with the brake lines...

if you are changing rotors, u don't need to remove the brake lines
if you are changing you brake pads, u don't need to remove your brake lines
if you are spray and pray ur brake caliper, u don't need to remove your brake lines

however...

if you are changing to SS brake lines, or draining your brake fluid, follow this direction >> http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Gar...edBleeders.htm
