Intake Banging

Hey, i recently installed an intake on my maxima and everything went well. However, i noticed that while im on a bumpy road or going over a speed bump, the filter would bang on the metal frame under it. I was wondering what you guys use to prevent this from happening. right now, the filter is resting on the metal, which cant be good.

thanks in advance for any info.

Phil

adjust the direction of the hose and secure it with clamps. if u look at on my cardomain page 2 u'll notice my intake hoses are bented. there shouldn't be any leakage as long as you secured it firmly with the clamps.

i had the same problem, and the inside fender was getting messed up by the filter hitting up against it... i tried adjusting everything but that didnt work so i put a lil piece of card board under it and its fine now... its kinda ghetto but it works

I cut a piece off one of my old belts (non- car belts, pants belts) and wrapped it around the intake where the hole in the fender is.

An intake? Just take the damn thing off, you're better off with a hacked airbox anyway. Plus, who cares about the extra .345 horses that it adds?

I've got a piece of Duct Tape and rolled up (inside out so the stickie part is exposed) I sticked it to the metal part of my K&N filter where it sits and makes contact with the metal of the car. and it works great. it acts like a cushion and it sticks prety good and can't even see it.

good luck
