Any engine 95-99 will fit in your car. VQ30 (the name of our engine) are in large supply, and thus are cheap if you look around. There are even some in the for sale forum sometimes. If you go with a 97, 98, or even 99 engine, you might need to use a newer ECU (engine computer) and appropriate wiring harness. You wanna look for one with low miles, has been stored in-doors (to avoid rust/bugs/etc), it should have good compression in all cylinders, etc. You'll find varying prices that are largely affected by shipping and waranty. You should be able to find one for 500 or less.

really i heard that the bluebird(im guessing that the maxima in japan) was turbo awd stock. if this is true, the cars would have the same spec,(engine bay wise) right. meaning it could be inported and installed.

no.......Gloria/Cedric are JDM maximas with a VQ30DET but only some of their internals fit because the motor is not sideways like in our cars cause of te tranny....this should help you out... http://www.freshalloy.com/site/featu...nes/home.shtml

Other then that no engine will fit RIGHT IN our cars.

maxima98vspec on the link u posted up the vq30dd ,i guess the last d for direct port injection, has 18hp more and 10 ft/lb tq over our motors. would you know how we could get our motors to have the same hp figures as the ceferio?
