Bosch spark plugs

Well after finding out that I should only put NGKs in my car I had already installed a set of Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs (4 electrode). Could this be robbing any power from me?

some member have reported hesitetion problems using Bosh +4 plugs. If you don't notice any problems then you might be a lucky one. If I were you I would replace them with NGK's

What do you exactly mean by hesitation problems? It's less responsive?

I don't know of any dyno proof but I have this proof: My wife used to have a '96 SE (totally stock). I have a '96 GXE with (at the time) y-pipe, full exhaust, PR CAI. Both automatics. After changing my plugs over to +4's, we raced and she walked me up to about 80-90 when we let off. I got on here, asked around, and changed to NGK platinums. We raced again and I walked away from her right from green.

It's taken a long time for me to live that down with her. May not be enough proof for some but it convinced me.

I also put in the +4's I had a slight hesitation but I had that with the original plugs. The hesitation went away when I added a pop intake filter, wondering the plugs needed a richer air/fuel mix, now wondering if performance would get even better with NGK's?

would that hesitation that your talking about be something like a "lag"

I know when i push the gas on my auto, ESPECIALLY in O/D ON that it doesnt exelerate smoothly, its more like i have to push the pedal farther and farther untill it either jerks and pulls, or it GRADUALLY speed up, not very fluid.....but i noticed that it is not so bad when O/D is OFF...

Is this just a characteristic of our cars at least on the auto? or do you think i might need new plugs? cause i have taken it to the stealer for the 100k mile check up, and they said my plugs are fine...should i go ahead and swap em out?

Or is this a different problem?

I would realy like some help on this, my car has been doin this for a while...i dont know if its normal..

The manuals recommend NGK for a reason - they are better in our application than Bosch.

Hmmm, sounds the way my car used to accelerate, back when I first picked it up a year and a half ago. The things that seemed to help right away were: replacing the fuel filter (it was seriously clogged and probably the original one that came with the car), replacing the air filter, and cleaning out the filthy throttle body (took 2 cans to clean it all out). There was a small difference in acceleration after swapping out the plugs (replaced them with the NGK coppers) but the change wasn't very dramatic.

So here's my opinion of what the acceleration pattern of the automatic transmission seems to be (regardless of whether O/D is on or off):

1st gear - slow
2nd gear - noticably faster
3rd gear - now we're talking
4th gear - saves gas

That sound right to all you automatic drivers?
