Check engine light is not on when turn to on position

I have a '96 and after I installed the generic intake my engine light is not on when I turn the key to ON position. I didn't connect the wire that plug to the stock intake. I just let it hang there.
I went to get a emission today and it fail because it can't communicate w/ the ECU.
How would I fix this problem guys? I'm a newbie. Thanks in advance!

Well connect the wire that you disconnected. I believe it was probaly the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. Then reset the ecu, to reset it; read the stickies at the top of the 4th gen fourm.

I ran the ECU Diagnostic, and I got the 0203: closed throttle position switch error.
Anyone knows how to fix it? Or I just have to install back my stock intake so I could plug the wire.
