help on 96 remote keyless control
My 96 Maxima's remote control is not working anymore, does anybody know where to find a replacement or how to fix it? or where to buy it online? how much it would probably cost? thanks a lot for the information.

Three possibilities:
A) dead battery - breplace battery (may need to perform next operation)
B) keyless entry system needs reprogramming
(1) Get in car, close and lock all doors.
(2) Insert and remove the key from the ignition more than six times within 10 seconds. The hazard warning lamp will then flash twice.
(3) Turn ignition key to "ACC" position.
(4) Push lock button on the remote controller once. The hazard warning lamp will then flash twice indicating programming accepted.
(5) get out of car
C) broken remote - buy new remote ($$$). Sometimes available used on EBAY for $25, dealer for $75.
