Did you know......

if you hold down the "unlock" button on your key fobs it rolls the windows down? The front two windows at least. I don't know if this is in the manual or not but my friend had it on his 99 and i tested mine and sure enough it had it also. Pretty cool feature..... gets the oooo's and ahhh's from some. Just thought I would share if some people didn't know this. But the windows must be put up from inside the car. Thats the only downside.

Well I'll tell you right now that your friend's lucky. I have a 99 SEL with original keyless entry and no windows roll down when I hold the unluck button. Same goes for my friend who also has a 99 SEL.

The keyfob does alot more than anyone thinks. if you hold the lock button for 3seconds and the press and hodl the truck for 3 seconds it turns the lights on. To turn them off do it again. it is very acoolf or at night when you cannot find your car or it is dark.

Hmm, very intruiging. Is there anything else that our fobs will do? So far there are 7 functions.

I have a loaded 99 SE and can't get any of these undocumented features to work. I can get the windows to go down, of course, but that's a feature that's in the owner's manual. To get the windows to go up, I tried pushing the UNLOCK three times, holding on the third. I varied speeds from very slow to very fast and the only result was the clicking of relays in the doors with each press (sounded like two different relays, I guess the lock and the window relays) but the damn windows never went up.

I also tried what ManualMaxima said to get the lights to go on (holding LOCK for 3 seoncds then holding TRUNK for 3 seconds) which is/would be an awesome feature. I again tried varying the speed and delay between presses. If I switched from LOCK to TRUNK with almost no delay nothing happened. If I switched with a little delay (0.5 to 1 second or so), all that happened was the trunk opened.

HELP! I WANT TO BE COOL LIKE YOU GUYS! OMG OMG OMG!!!!!1111111

the things that you can do with your remote:
open the windows
lock/unlock the doors
open the trunk
panic button

let's not give out false info guys.. it's funny at first but when i see other members try to roll up their windows, i kinda feel bad.

If those two posts were both jokes, then they're not funny at all, just counterproductive. What is the point?

Man, I feel dumb. I was contemplating whether or not I should spend $30 to get a used remote for my car. I knew of the basic functions, but I could live without those. I'd rather spend the cash on something else like a wax job. But when I heard that you could also roll up your windows and turn your lights on, I was like "Dang yo, Gotta get one now!"....

so I did...

stupid impluse decisions...

Thanks guys for teaching me a lesson... "Don't believe all you read..."

I learned it the hard way.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA alright guys im sorry, but I couldn't resist... I've seen this posted so many times, and me imagining you goin out and trying all these button combos gets me laughing so hard i nearly shat myself. Don't feel bad because ppl who post on this get fooled by this all the time, its just a friendly joke, this sort of thing doesn't happen often, but ahhh, just think, now when some newbie posts the same thing, you can trick him too! Early APRILS FOOLS!

haha i first learned about this feature by accident.

i came outside and my car's trunk was popped open, doors unlocked and windows down. i was freakin stumped and figured it was some sorta prank but then realized the feature. i must have sat on my remote or something.

now i have key hooks by the door for my keychain.
