Picked up a 4th gen last week, here it is so far (pics, vids)

Hey guys. I'm Mike Knowles. aka ScarfaceTHX aka flyEX #1, axa FLYSE#1 .....

I bought a civic new in 1996 and sold it after 8 years this month. Decent car for a high school kid but I got tired of driving it 3 hours a day and / or being seen in it.

The old civic: http://www.auburnextremeracing.com/drivers/mike_ex/

I had been looking at 1999 maximas (and 2000's) but I found this one literally right around the corner. I ended up getting a 1997 Deep Emerald? SE.

The car is in great condition. Everything works. Some minor scratches and dings, but it's just gonna get more commutiing 100+ miles a day.

My father owned every gen maxima back from the first one that had datsun and nissan badges if I'm right. I've driven a bunch of fast cars and everyone I know has a DSM or f-body, but I always liked the maxima.

Sooo I got this one:

A week later and I have hooked it up pretty nice. I paid almost $3000 less than I was planning so that gave me mod money + cash to put away incase something breaks.

So far I have:
  1. hacked airbox
  2. bought k&n panel filter
  3. put in a JL W6v2 10" in a High Output Enclosure
  4. Powered the Sub with a D Class Mono Amp
  5. Wired all that in with the factory Bose
  6. Bought Clear Bumper Lens
  7. And today I got the car tinted with LLumar 20% all around

Here are a few random pics:

I took a million videos with my camera after haX0ring the airbox, but these two best represent what it's like driving around:

Traffic: http://www.auburnextremeracing.com/d...se/intake1.avi

Backroad: http://www.auburnextremeracing.com/d...se/intake2.avi

I think that's it. If traffic on my webhost is not too bad I have some wilder videos from the day I did the airbox.

Nice meeting everyone.

Oh yeah. I should be ordering a Y-Pipe this week. The jury is still out on the tails, and this car's suspension will remain unmolested. heh

Nice work so far. The Civic looks decent, but the more work you do on the max, the more you'll forget about the civic. Welcome to the org...

Nice Max and audio setup. The Maxima is 10x better than the civic stock.

Your civic was really clean and good looking for those type civics. I don't usually like them, but yours looked good.

However, your new max looks even better. Keep up the good work.
Is it an auto or a manual?

That Chapelle sig is hilarious!
