I've installed radios in other cars I've owned throughout the years without any real problems, but this one has me baffled.

Hooking up an older (but still works) Audiophase cd player with the wiring harness to my *new* 96 Maxima. All the wires are pretty simple ... speakers, acc, battery ... and then there's the "illumination" and "dimmer" wires.

Hmmm....

No where to put those one so I don't. Now the radio doesn't light up properly and the dimmer lights don't work. Yeah, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

Question, where do I hook those up? I hooked the illumination wire up to the yellow Battery wire and voila, everything worked! Except then, it ran the battery down. hehe.

In the old car I moved this radio from, I simply taped off each of these wires and nothing funky like this happened.

Can anyone help?
