Headers for 4th Gen

Anyone have any success stories regarding gains from installing aftermarket headers? I'm specifically interested in the Cattman headers but haven't really seen any threads regarding them.

I love my Cattman headers. It feels like I got as much power from them as I did my intake and cat-back. That is just a butt dyno which means nothing, though.

No exhaust yet DoGGY.
But yeah, I had a cattman Y pipe and decided to get the headers.
ALL I can say is I love them, each and everyday I drive my car.
They look great, sound very nice and quiet, and very good performance over the Y pipe.
beware that they are somehow expensive, and the install is a BIATCH!!!!
If you are looking to freeup every single bit of HP out of your engine, then I recommend them.
if you just want a bit more power and a cheap price, then Y pipe is your answer.

So the gains from the Full Header package isn't mainly from the Y-pipe? I know it's a less-than-ideal question but approximately how much hp do the headers add alone? Would they link up with the WSP Y-pipe or is the Full Header package necessary?

You get maybe 5hp over the y itself. But that flywheel you were getting for your 4spd should help more.

Yes yes, let it die. I learned something from that mistake and was embarassed enough by it that you don't need to bring it up again although you did; thanks. You've proved once more that I know little about cars but am willing to learn even in the face of potential ridicule. Thanks for the first half of your post.

they don't come with a catback
this is all you get

as far as the gains. They have shown 5hp over the performance Y pipe, but the only ones that were dynoed weren't ceramic coated. All the new headers from Cattman are ceramic coated, and they should help a bit more. Probably 6-8hp over a Y pipe, and even more when combined with catback.
There is no actual dyno's yet but all I can say is "wow". They feel great I'm not going back to a Y pipe.

It isn't worth it to get headers if you already have a ypipe.

The 'butt dyno' is all in your heads. If it is dyno proven to only give you about a 5-8hp gain over a y-pipe then you won't be feeling it.

This mod should only be done by those that are either f/i'd or don't have a y-pipe already.

...unless you are just looking to squeeze as much hp with bolt-ons as possible.
