97 Maxima Start Question...

I didn't see anything in the FAQs or other stickies so I'll ask here.

I have a 97GLE .... Some mornings, the thing doesn't want to start right away. It's usually when it's cold... wet... or cold and wet... It's fine in the summer. But yeah, I'll start it, it'll start for like a second, then the revs will drop quickly and the car will stall out. Sometimes the car will catch itself, sometimes it won't. Usually, If I'm fast enough, I'll start the car, and before the revs drop, I'll punch the gas to keep the revs up. It'll always start like this.

After it's started, the car drives perfectly fine.....

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas?

Hold the key in the on position until the beeps stop. This will allow time for the fule line to pressurize. You can hear the relay for the fuel pump turn off before the beeps stop, the beeps are easier to hear though. Sounds kinda strange, but it works. Or maybe try cleaning your throttle body.

Clean your throttle body. Goto www.motorvate.ca for instructions. If your still having hard starts in the mornings, change your engine coolant temp sensor.
