engine stalls
a bit of history:
1. my 98 SE needs a little gas when starting. this is especially true when the weather is cold and wet.
2. I changed my spark plugs (Bosch 4)
3. used a cheaper brand of gas. grade was still 93. I have since switched back.
symptom:
the engine sometimes stalls when i am in gear and just starting to move. problem seem to happen when I am on a hill (going up hill) (not always). also when the car is not warmed up. rpm seems erratic on the low side.
the engine first stalled about a week ago. then 3 times the next day. I changed the fuel filter. my friend said that it might be the "mass intake" (don't know what this is). engine stalled once about 2 days ago. and has since been fine.
best solution:
from reading the stuff on this forum the "best answer" looks like the throttle position sensor (tps) might be the problem.
other solutions:
also article that bosch plugs are not good, this scares me.
another problem someone had sounded like mine but people recommended changing the ignition coil.
thanks in advance for your help.
I am unable to search the forum. otherwise I would look for more info on tps.
