I would just go ahead and replace the rest of them if you can. There are some places online where you can get the at 40% less than dealer prices

Thats why I've been saying for the last year when one of your coils is going bad on the 99's, the others are not far behind. Its best to replace them all at once. I would suggest replacing the remaining coils. $55-60 each at Courtesy Nissan.

I think I've only heard that from a dealer....crooks...
If you get a deal when buying all 6, then get all 6.

anyhow, I would think that if it ain't broke, don't replace it...

I understand your view FLO_BOY, I generally believe "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Just the same I'd rather not get nickled and dimed to death doing 1 or 2 coils now, a few monthes later doing another.

It does seem like the dealers do it because it's a quick solution

IMHO

VERY VERY TRUE!

I'm currently going through my 3rd coil, which only gives hesitations sometimes. I will go ahead and buy 6 new ones pretty soon.

Don't pay $55-75 a coil. Ebay has awesome deal on coils quite often. You can get brand new, 6 in the box coils for a 4th gen Maxima all for under $200. I think many times the coils are new and stolen, that is why they go for so little.

And, often you can tell that they coils are indeed new and in the box by looking at the sellers' ebay feedback reviews. Once there was a guy who had 6 brand new coils for a 4th gen for $186 (the ending bidding price) with over 100 reviews and 100% positive feedback, coming mostly from sellling vehicle ignition parts.
