No intake, Good intake?

For a couple of weeks now, I've read about a lot of people not liking their Intake systems, saying that it's too loud, or mostly, not enough gain.
Lot's of members are looking like they're going back to the stock intake.

What's going on here? Are you saying there are no gains with intakes at all?
Or are you saying that it's not worth the noise?

Maybe, people just have different taste.

So then, I must ask. Which intake system has best performance gains for an automatic?

And which intake sounds the best? The deepest-toned, least ricey, least droney, but still nice and loud when you open it up?
