Adjusting Trunk Lid

My trunk lid sits at a slight angle when closed. The left side is a bit higher and it annoys me because the taillights on that side don't quite line up. If I push down on the left side, it will sit level but it comes right back up again when I let go.

Are there some bolts or something I can adjust to get it to sit level? The FSM only says the following: "Trunk lid adjustment: Adjust at hinge-trunk lid portion for proper trunk lid fit." I looked for the hinges in the trunk but they seem to be way up inside the car. WTF??? Help me out here.

adjusting the trunk latch won't fix that.

Did I mention the trunk latch at all? No, I did not. "Lid" refers to the part that opens and closes. "Trunk" refers to the whole thing, including the compartment. I mentioned the trunk lid.

Can anyone help me?

OK, I was joking in my last post, in case you didn't get that, bananamax ("j/k" means just kidding). I appreciate your reading the thread, but your post was unnecessary.

Anyway, how about that trunk lid?

try moving the latching system on the car down via the 2 screws and moving it down some. then simply bend the right side (near the rear window) higher to compensate
