Check engine light
Check engine light
I had to disconnect the battery over the weekend to work on my 99 maxima. When I hooked the battery back up the check engine light and the brake lights on the dash panel are now on. How can I get them off without going to the dealer. Thanks for your help in advance.
What exactly did you do when you "worked" on your max? Could have been something you did ... no offense.
EDIT:
Try to reset the ECU ...
Disconnect the neg terminal from the battery.
Hold down your brake pedal for 2 minutes or so.
Reconnect the battery.

I replaced the radio. Everything these days is run by a computer or has so many electronics, it forces the owner to take it to a mechanic that has a machine to read the codes. Is there a way to reset it without paying someone to do that.
