maxspeeds or dropzones?

i want a drop badly im tired of this dam gap, i checked out the frontpage website about the springs, and i want to know if dropzone or maxspeeds are good, the only reason i want them is because of there price. Another question with the dropzones is do i loose performance? could i still peel out and accelerate as qwik? tanks in advance. o i am gettin either eibachs or kyb struts

first off, http://maxmods.dyndns.org/

2nd off, neither. I say save up enough money to get better springs, like Progress, Eibachs, etc. You save a couple bucks now, but you'll kick yourself in the butt when your car is riding like crap.

the type of spring/shock setup WILL effect quality and performance of your ride. read the link and choose wisely, as suspension is a BIG part of your car.

..and as for doing peel-outs, you're wasting money right there on tires.

u should care about the handling, because if u lose control speed wont help you much. not sure what you're riding on now, but save up for better suspension. read the link

Hey, wearn't you the one who blew his tranny doing burnouts?? Im pretty sure I read your thread on that.. YOU STILL THINK ABOUT BURNOUTS?!?!

Anyways, between the dropzones and the maxspeeds I would pick maxspeeds.

A $99 spring rides and performes like a $99 spring.

Progress, Eibach, H&R or the kit offered by Tokico sold by CustomMaxima are much better choices.

EDIT: I should include Tein in that list as well. They ride and perform great too. There also the only spring that comes with new isolators already mounted on the coils.

Yep, I'm rolling on Illuminas and Maxspeeds (with RSB/FSTB) and it's sweet as h#ll, corners on rails, no body roll, and works pretty darn good for the cratered roads in the Twin Cities.

I have some maxspeeds, but I cannot decide if I want to keep them and put them on my car. I bought them new, but never put them on. I am hearing things that might make me want to get Progress springs or something.

2 Da Max, I will let you know if I am going to sell them, if you want me to?

About your springs, if it were MY money, and if I wanted to do it right and do it once, I would get a set of used springs (uncut) from a tried and tested company (Intrax, H&R, Eibach, etc.), or even the new Tein ($150-180, shipped, on eBay).

I would spend the extra money on another brand of springs. New Teins are about $150 shipped, but are supposed to be really nice. The other springs are tried and true , and springs do not really wear out. One thing to think about is that 5MT trannys are lighter up fron then auto. Since 90% of maximas and i30s are autos, most springs were made for level ride on the auto.

My Intrax are level with a 5MT, but I have heard that other springs ride high in the front- ask around. I know that H&Rs were level on my GLE, so they might ride front-high with a 5-speed. The ride on them was GREAT, though.
