Unique intake idea

Excuse me if this sounds rather stupid, but I'm very lacking as far as vehicle knowledge is concerned.

The question I have is this: I've seen all sorts of intake designs being implemented in Maximas, but I’ve never seen an active intake design (of course not including turbo and superchargers.). Would it be possible to incorporate a fan or a series of fans into the intake system to boost the airflow and even provide a small amount of pressure in the intake?

I’m not talking about your everyday run of the mill computer case fans or household fans, but some really beefy electric ones. I was thinking of putting two 7” tarzan fans in series to create the airflow. These are about the most powerful electric fans that you can buy for the size. They weigh about 5 lbs each, push out 340 CFM of air (although I calculate when the pressure factor is considered, they will only be pushing out about 180CFM), and run at 120VAC @ 1.5A.

Has someone tried it before? Will it work, or is it the worst idea you’ve ever heard?

Unique? EBAY has millions of these "ELECTRIC TURBOS/SUPERCHARGERS" for sale. Apparently they are a waste of time.

Hmmm...I guess that's why I've never seen them around here. Thanks for the info.

they cant spin fast enough for a high rpm engine, and they take ALOT of power to run, also when they're not running they just block the intake air.

the best intake setup is jime's custom CAI through the headlight. it's a direct air induction from the front-end with smooth intake piping.

whatever your electric thingy is a complete POS, and it will never work on maxima.
