Can you smoke CLEAR bumper lights?

I bought the car w/ clear bumper lights already on them, and since in doing AE headlight mod, smoked corner lights and fogs, i was wondering, can you smoke the bumper lights too? I know for all the others you just take the lense off and paint the inside, but i see people spray painting the OUTSIDE of bumper lenses, can i just spray a LIGHT coat and not have it pure black, just like some speckles, or is there another way to do it?

I don't see why you couldn't just use some smoke spray on the outside. It will probably wear off after a few months but they're easy enough to take off and paint some more.

And cheap enough to replace if you really foul them up.

You can smoke them just fine with regular paint. That is what I did. High temp black glossy is all I had around and it worked out just fine.
If you want them to be shiny you might wanna use some clear coat though.

Use a lense tinting spray...you don't want your signals to lose brightness.

geo, did you use the same method to open your bumper lenses up to paint as with opening the headlights to do AE mod?

personally i think that to match the AE headlight mod you should open up the lenses with a heat gun and spray lense tinting spray on the inside unless you are plannaing on tinting your headlights, then just paint them black

You dug a 5 year old thread out for this? Its the same process as opening up a set of headlights. Use heat and pry.
