I bought my 95 SE with a cheezy aftermarket alarm system with no remote (Old Audiovox). I want to get a factory alarm.
*Any suggestion on where to get one besides the dealer?
*Roughly how much$$$?
*Does the brain plug into a factory harness?? Or is it hardwired?

Don't the 95SE's come with the factory alarm?

Maybe the person that installed the aftermarket alarm, just bypassed the stock one. It still might be there, but just have to be reconnected.

No, not all SE's come with a factory alarm. My 95 SE didn't and my dad's 98 didn't either. Both had aftermarket ones installed afterwards.

My point is: They leave the assembly line with an alarm. But what people choose to do with it after that depends. Even though the alarm is aftermarket, there is a chance that the wires and the control unit for the original are still in the car, but that depends on what that install of the aftermarket alarm did.

You should have a LED just left of the steering wheel labeled "SECURITY" if you have a factory alarm...

But I recommend getting an aftermarket one anyways...
Remember that how secure the car really depends on the installer more so than the brand of alarm... I see so many alarm brains in plain sight... Just one pull and the alarm is disabled...
