First off... cat... It's made by OBX. The build quality is very nice, it's Stainless Steel... the stainless welds are absolutely perfect on mine on the Accord, but there's no catalyst, it's a resonator.......... so my car used to have a deep gurgle which turned smooth and sounded almost like an S4 with Milltek exhaust... and now... sounds like a fart can.

So basically I'd take the stock cat and weld in a straight pipe if you're interested in polluting and making the air smell nasty. But if your car is an 00-03, you really shouldn't need a new cat, because unless you're pushing lots of boost, there's no real reason to get rid of your cat, cuz it's definitely not clogged yet.

Oh, and Nismo = Usually good. But remember, look under name... n00B.

I installed my $tillen sts the same month i joined the org. Found that it was one of the best mods that i have purchased. It was really easy to install with a help of a friend. The only draw back is the notchyness of the STS. Unfortunately you will get that with any STS.

once you get used to sts, is it better than stock when you need to shift fast? or does the notchyness cause you to miss shifts more ?

I think it is better than stock. My new shifter looks like the mustang saleen shifters for the new cars.. Its kinda angles... Its a bit notchy, at first I missed shifts because its totalls different on gears.... Thing about having to shift 2 inchies down from 1st to snd and 2 inches up to third and up and a small inch over for reverse. It's incredible. Once I get used to it, i def. wont miss shifts. It kicks @$$!

I've heard some stories about ebay shifters snapping off when shifting hard, not sure why you would be slammin gears that damn hard to break it but thats what I have heard. I have the Pacesetter sts and I love it, its steel, adjustable and a hell of a lot cheaper than the B&M. the b&m is probably the nicest one out there though, depends on what you can afford. as for being notchy, its only noticable for the first few days.

i saw some pics of the B&M sts sitting up high, very close to the shifter boot plastic part. does the pacesetter also sit in this position ?

The problem with adjustable shifters is that too often, in the shorter end of the spectrum, it is way to notchy and you will actually shift slower. If you do get an adjustable, be conservative. I went from the Pacesetter to the Stillen and just love the STillen. It feels VERY solid, is really high quality, and actually is not a lot shorter in height than stock so you have good leverage to make your shifts. From what I've seen of B&M, that looks like a good choice too. I am luke warm to the pacesetter.

I think the majority of sts sit pretty close to the dash when in 1st,3rd and 5th. that is one thing that I didn't like about the design, I don't know why they couldn't put a sharper bend in it or ever put 2 bends. but I don't hit my hand on the dash and like I said before, it not notchy at all after the 1st couple of days.

The shifter does sit high. I usually have my cell phone int the little cigg. door thingy, but cant anymore cause of the shifter.

But the shifter is worth it! Gives the car a more sporty feel. And it does shift a lot faster. Notchiness goes away. it is only notchy because the new bearings or whatever have to break in.

I have the custommaxima shifter. Couldnt be happier.
