Over the last week i installed another used auto tranny into my car. I thought it was my tranny, maybe still is, but after a nice burnout as the tranny shifts into second, the power drops tremendously, the tires will stop spinning then my tranny will catch up again. This isnt normal?
Even as i am cruising at about 20mph more or less, if i put the tranny into nuetral and rev it a little into drive, the tires wont spin, the rpms go down.I remember after i first got the car, if i would do this there would be nice tire spin.
These were some of the problems i wanted to get rid of by dropping in another tranny (50k miles on it).
Maybe bad sensors not the tranny but maybe the engine? or valve body??
I am not a frequent on doing burnouts, i learned my lesson with the auto, i can let the org know Do Not do nuetral drops and Dont do the drop resistor mod during normal driving, especially with no tranny cooler... but am i the only 1 with this problem?

i duno when my tranny went it took awile for it to shift to first, and like after 40 if felt like the car wasnt catching the next gear as if it was slipping, but then it started to leak.
I dont have that kind of problem, as a matter of fact, the tranny feels like new, shifts perfectly, just when it detects the tires spinning, i can feel the bog down after the shift from first to second...Also with a little nuetral drop while moving, the rpms drop down not to make my tires spin...

thats suppose to happen then when u do a burn out and it shifts to second the tires will stop spining, that goes to show your tranny puttin out more torq, and that your old tranny was really ****ed up

i had a somewhat of the same problem with my car. i couldn't get out of my space at work cause of the snow and i was spinning tire off and on for about 10 min. After i got out, i noticed i didn't have alot of power, and no kickdown. i just shut the car off when i got home and let it sit for a couple minutes. Found out it's a safety override when your transmission becomes overheated. Works fine now. maybe you fried something when you did the burnout. is your trans. and auto?
