Key Chip Bypass
Key Chip Bypass
for all of you that don't have 120 to spend on the nissan way here is another nissan way they didn't tell you buy as many replacement keys as you want at your local key maker i paid .97 cents each then take your chip key place it VERY CLOSE to your ignition now place the .97 cent key in the ignition and turn it over WALA it turns on and stays on now turn off your car put the chip key inside the steering colume tape it in and now turn it over again to see if its close enought to the ignition now its 109 dallors for the information <smile>
Why would you want to bypass a theft countermeasure? I guess maybe if you are trying to pull an insurance job or something. I would not try to bypass the key chip and if you f*ck it up you are going to pay even more when you have to tow your vehicle to nissan so they can reset everything so it will turn on.
ok lets see i know ALOT of people that don't have the money to pay nissan 120 dallors for a key replacment and the OEM key they we all have has a flaw so i was posting this and a alternitive to DRILLING A HOLE in the side of the key
Well I dont see how this helps anyone.....making my car accesible to steal......doesnt exactly sound like help. Why not just tape the key to the window?? Besides if you have one good key...just get a second key made..to have at your houe whever so you can get in your car if you lock your keys in. If its a situation like mine where the key went bad.....this helps me none you still have to be towed to nissan.
Next thing.......did you actually try this??
I am begining to wonder if you nvis system is even working. The code mechanism in the key is powered by the ignition........your key isnt self powered.....it doesnt send out radio waves....if that was the case then you would see a slot to change out batteries.

after talking to the nissan service manager for about an hour he told me that if you don't want to buy the key from them you can bypass it by doing this and then he said it was the same way they made keyless entry and keyless start if your really want to know
ok maybe i used the wrong word by useing "bypassing" cause you still have to use the chip but if you have the same problem most every maxima owner has with the key ring breaking its a good way to fix that problem since nissan didn't fix that problem
So what if it bypasses that particular security measure. All of us with pre 99's don't have this anyway. He's right, a lot of people don't have $120 to spend or don't want to spend that much on a key. As long as the key taped to the inside is filed down or cut off so IT can't start the car, all that is being done is the ignition anti-theft 'bonus' is being removed to make it like all the other 4th gens.
Well i consider myself more fortunate than pre-99 max's. That extra 30 sec it takes them to get my car might be enough time for me to get out there and bash their head in. I am one of the people who have had their nvis mess up. I took my 2 keys and had them reprogrammed. Cost me $150 for both. I cant see why anyone would want to disable ANY anti theft device. That $150 every once in a blue moon is going to be less than the cost of me having to buy a new car. I'll take my chances with the chip.
