How many miles since the injector cleaner was added?

Was the oil on the electrode? Were the plugs fouled at all?

[edit]I'd delete the other thread you started (same title) to avoid confusion.[/edit]

oil was by the threads and gunk was on the insulator not the tip. gunk maybe from too much boot lube

I doubt its the cleaner but just in case, I must ask: How long ago did you put it in and was it red? Now that I said what I don't think it is. I do think that it is an oil leak from the plug cylider seals in the valve cover. One of mine is leaking and this cause one plug to have oil all over it last time I changed. If it smells like motor oil, looks like motor oil and tastes like motor oil my guess is that its motor oil. I don't know if its bad for anything but I assume its not extremely detrimental to engine health. I wouldn't push it off your fix it list but I don't think you should fix it tomorrow. I will be replacing all my plug cylinder seals when I take off my valve cover to paint it and fix an exterior leak.

Well, there are three different fluids working here: gasoline, oil and your injector cleaner. If they mix, you might get red. Were the plugs fouled up?

It might be your plug grommets...if that's the case, I'd think the plugs should look fine. How many plugs looked like this? I doubt all of your grommets are leaking.

didn't use anti seize. the threads of the plug are dark and smell like old oil. i think the top part that is red is the grease that prevents arching and stuck boots. but if oil is leaking in what would need to be fixed.

How long have those plugs been in? You might want to stick some new plugs (coppers, to save $$) and pull them out a few miles down the road to see what they look like. If you have a leak, they should foul up.

Did you snap any pictures of the plugs?
